Product Overview
  • Builder Theme is iThemes’ latest theme released on December 16, 2009.  With Builder you can customize the layout for pages, posts, and categories.

  • Builder’s flexibility enables different layouts, created by you, for different pages and posts.  There’s no limit to the number of layouts you can create and use.

  • You can also upload through the Builder theme’s options panel a header and/or logo.  Likewise, you can fully customize a footer using widget placement or accessing the footer.php file.

  • The Builder theme comes preloaded with an include / exclude category and pages function.
Color options 2 color options out of the box.  However, you can access the  CSS style sheet for full customization.

Strengths of the Builder Theme Layout flexibility is the best aspect of the Builder theme.  Builder’s flexibility is based on widget placement.  Using the layout function under options, you can create as many cusotmized page, post, and category layouts as you like. For example, you can have 3 widgets side-by-side and then 1 full-width widget underneath followed by 4 widgets side-by-side.
Complaints about the Builder Theme No sidebar option unless you include a conent section in the layout.  The content section is the body of a post or a page.  Also, it’s out-of-the-box design is very simple.  If you want to spruce up the look and feel, you have some work to do.
Customization restrictions None.  You can customize the Builder theme as much as you like.  There are no restrictions.
Theme Specifications Builder theme only operates on the WordPress.org platform.  Builder requires a self-hosted domain.  Typically, customers of premium WordPress themes open an account with a host such as Bluehost.
